George Harrison - Electronic Sound (Dark Horse)

George Harrison's ‘Electronic Sound’ stands as a pioneering exploration of synthesiser-based composition. Recorded on a Moog synthesiser, this experimental work predates much of the electronic music landscape that would follow, showcasing Harrison's willingness to venture beyond conventional rock instrumentation. The album stemmed from The Beatles’ love of experimental music and other avant-garde artistic expression. The album was originally an Apple Corp release on its short-lived Zapple subsidiary in February 1969. The label that released the outré sonic explorations. George’s ‘Electronic Sound’ and John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s ‘Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With The Lions’ were two of the releases from the label. The album demonstrates his curiosity regarding emerging production technologies and his commitment to artistic exploration beyond his Beatles legacy.
