Pulp - More. (Rough Trade)

Pulp's ‘More.’ documents the band's artistic evolution during a transformative period. It seemingly came out of nowhere, and we’re SO glad that it did. It was one of the albums of 2025. It was high on most of the end-of-year lists, too. Jarvis Cocker's compositions examine contemporary existence through a lens of sardonic observation and emotional candour, whilst James Ford’s production framework merges avant-garde studio experimentation with pop accessibility. The record demonstrates Pulp's commitment to artistic progression and refusal to replicate earlier formulas. An intellectually engaging work suited to listeners who appreciate lyrically substantive alternative music that challenges genre boundaries and embraces compositional ambition. Highlights include ‘Spike Island’, 'Farmers Market’, and ‘The Hymn of the North’.
